Linkin Park is an American rock band that originated in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The band's present members include vocalist/rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn, bassist Dave Farrell, co-lead vocalist Emily Armstrong, and drummer Colin Brittain.
The initial lineup for the band's first seven studio albums featured lead vocalist Chester Bennington and drummer Rob Bourdon.
Primarily classified as alternative rock and nu metal, Linkin Park's early music combined elements of heavy metal and hip hop, while their later works incorporate more electronica and pop influences.
Linkin Park gained global recognition with their first studio album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which achieved Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Released at the height of the nu metal movement, the album's singles received extensive airplay on MTV, resulting in "One Step Closer", "Crawling", and "In the End" all reaching high positions…
